2022 JAMB UTME/DE Registration Guidelines & Instructions: The JAMB (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) Application Form/ Eligibility/Requirements & Mock/UTME Examination Date for 2022/2023 Academic Session [Instructional Details & Guidelines].

Application is invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2022/2023 Academic Session.

JAMB 2022 SALE / REGISTRATION PERIOD [UTME & DE]

The period of sale/registration for all candidates (UTME/DE) including those from Foreign Countries is from Saturday 12th February 2022 to Saturday 19th March 2022.

PIN vending ends Saturday 19th March 2022 while the registration portal closes on Tuesday 22nd March 2022.

ELIGIBILITY CHECKER

Candidates are advised to check their eligibility for chosen programs and institutions on ibass.jamb.gov.ng. It is important that candidates check the requirements before commencing the application process. The eligibility checker assists candidates with options of programs (courses) based on their qualifications.

JAMB GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS [UTME & DE]

A. UTME
The general entry requirements for admission into the First Degree, National Diploma (ND), National Innovation Diploma (NID), and Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) programs are five (5) O'Level Credit passes including the English Language. Details are available in the eBrochure which would be given to each Candidate at the JAMB accredited CBT centers and State-Offices. It is also available for download at www.jamb.gov.ng and on Android Mobile App (JAMB IBASS) from the Google Play store. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PASSWORD to any center (or Cyber Café). Any center that asks for more than your profile code, email address, and the registration number is a fraudster. Do not give any passwords.

B. DIRECT ENTRY (NOTE: DE Registration Closes on the Same Date with UTME Application)
Candidates with one of the following qualifications may be considered for admission by Direct Entry:

(a) A minimum of O'Level credit pass in five (5) subjects at not more than two sittings with at least two prescribed subjects (for each discipline) at Principal or Advanced level. No subject shall be counted twice at both Ordinary and Advanced Level

(b) Two passes (in prescribed subjects for each discipline) at the Advanced-Level Examination of IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB or Institute of Baccalaureate with SSCE/GCE, NTS/NBC credits equivalents in three other subjects

(c) Passes in two major subjects in the NCE with S.S.C.E., NTC/NBC credits or equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses) and ND. For Education courses, Education may be accepted as a third A' Level subject

(d) Minimum of lower credit grade in National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma and the O'Level requirements

  • DE CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR JAMB REGISTRATION
  •  NUMBERS WITH WHICH THEY GAINED ADMISSION TO NCE/NID/DIPLOMA AND PREVIOUS DEGREE PROGRAMMES.
  •  QUALIFICATIONS AWARDED BY EXAMINATION BODIES (IJMB, CAMBRIDGE, WAEC, JUPEB, etc) APPROVED BY NIGERIA SHALL NOT REQUIRE ANY PRIOR JAMB NUMBER.
  • REGISTRATION FOR DE CANDIDATES SHALL NOT BE EXTENDED BEYOND THE PERIOD ALLOTTED FOR BOTH UTME/DE.

  • CAVEAT: 
  • CANDIDATES SHOULD NOT TAKE UTME AND DE AT THE SAME TIME. IF THEY APPLY THROUGH UTME AND LATER OBTAIN DE QUALIFICATION, THEY CAN UPGRADE THEIR UTME TO DE AT NO COST. Double/multiple registrations attract outright cancellation and prosecution.
Candidates are not permitted to register more than once. In the event of any error during the registration process, such candidates are to seek correction from the Board and not to obtain a fresh application as doing so would attract sanction.

Registration can only be done at the centers listed on our site (www.jamb.gov.ng) and pasted at JAMB offices in each State capital. Anybody who registers outside these centers does so at his/her risk.

Nobody, including parents/guardians or any proxy, is allowed to transact any business on any candidate’s profile. The registration process and all activities on candidates’ profiles are being monitored by the Board and defaulters shall be severely sanctioned. Any candidate who makes his password, profile code, or other security codes available to another person (parents, friends, tutorial teachers, fraudsters, etc) is liable for any alteration done by such person(s). DO NOT GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYBODY INCLUDING JAMB OFFICIALS. These security codes are not to be demanded at any registration center by any person for any purpose.

JAMB 2022 ORDER OF CHOICE OF INSTITUTIONS
Every candidate is to note that the 1st choice can be a College of Education, University, Innovation Enterprise Institution, Polytechnic/Monotechnic, Nigerian Defence Academy, or the Police Academy

JAMB STEPS FOR 2022 REGISTRATION

A. PROFILE REGISTRATION
i. One Cell (mobile) number (SIM) can be used by one candidate only. The Cell phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the Candidate's name and will be used in all communications related to his/her 2022 Application, Examination/Admission. 
NOTE THE SIM-NUMBER USED. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION

ii. Candidate will send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 from his/her personal GSM number. E.g. write the word "NIN" then space and add you're 11 digit NIN Number and send to 55019 in this format (NIN 00123456789). There should be a space between the word 'NIN' and your 11 digit NIN (Note that the number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past) OR Dial *55019*1*NIN#.

iii. A Profile Code of 10 characters is received by the candidate on the same telephone(SIM) number BY OBTAINING UTME/DE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS, A CANDIDATE HAS ACCEPTED TO RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM JAMB (55019) EVEN WHEN THE “DO NOT DISTURB” IS ACTIVATED

iv. Candidate presents the profile code to the point of procurement of form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). The form- ePIN is then sent as a text message to the candidate

v. Candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for registration

vi. The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometric (all ten fingers) is captured and the photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). The successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. The fingerprint shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidates’ profiles.

vii. Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidates’ profile.

viii. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters in Abuja

B. SELF HELP IN CASE OF MISTAKE/LOSS OF PROFILE CODE
i. To correct a spelling error(s) in biodata, candidates should be directed to NIMC Office or JAMB Office nearest to them.

OR

To correct a mistake in the candidate’s name, send the [CORRECT Surname First-name Middle-name] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

ii. To retrieve a lost Profile Code, send [RESEND] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

iii. Candidate can reset lost or forgotten Profile Password on their registered cell phone by sending [PASSWORD] space  the [email address] to 55019 as a text message from the same mobile number

C. (FREE COMPLAINT) TICKETING
For ALL complaints on JAMB processes, a candidate should create a support ticket at https://www.jamb.gov.ng, by selecting the quick link, and then Ticket/Support with his/her email address with the Board. The candidate then provides his/her name, phone number, and the nature of the complaint selects a complaint area on a drop-down, and then summarises the nature of the complaint. He/she should also attach supporting documents (if available). Complaints from 3rd parties are merely noted. Letter writing is not encouraged. Rather all complaints should be channeled through the ticketing system for prompt attention and documentation.
For complaints relating to NIN (e.g a candidate sends a message to 55019 to create a profile but does not receive any response or receives wrong data, he/she can follow the same process on the ticketing and click on 2022 NIN related issues then select the related topic on the drop-down.)

NOTE THAT YOUR PASSWORD SHOULD NOT BE RELEASED TO ANYONE. JAMB CAN ONLY HELP ON PROFILE-PASSWORD, NOT E-MAIL-BOX-PASSWORD. YOU CAN ALSO CHECK YOUR ADMISSION STATUS ON JAMB IBASS APP ON YOUR PHONE. DO NOT CHECK AT ANY CYBER CAFÉ THAT WOULD DEMAND YOUR PASSWORD WHICH IS THEN USED TO STEAL YOUR RECORDS. “TO BE FOREWARNED IS TO BE FOREARMED”.
 
Candidates and the general public are to note that nobody can help with admission or upgrade of scores; they would only deceive and defraud those who patronize fraudsters.

D. JAMB ePIN SELLING POINTS
The ePIN outlets are:
i. NIPOST and fourteen Participating Banks (ACCESS, ECOBANK, FIRSTBANK, FCMB, FIDELITY, HERITAGE, JAIZ, KEYSTONE, POLARIS, STERLING, TAJ, UNION, UBA, and UNITY)

ii. Mobile Money Operators: Paga, e-Tranzact (PocketMoni), TEASYPay and Packway Projects (Readycash), and Xpress payment solutions

iii. Participating Micro Finance Banks: Trust MFB, Zazzau MFB, and UNICAL MFB.

iv. Online Payment Platforms: Capricorn Digital Ltd, Cloud Interactive Associates, e-Transact, Funds, and Electronic Transfer, InterSwitch (Quickteller), Upperlink, Itex Integrated Service, System Specs (REMITA), and Unified Payment Service UPS.

v. Cooperative Society are listed below: JAMB Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society
vi. Other outlets are listed below: Digital Partners Network, pay vintage, PayCom, and Cottage Assets. vii. Point Of Sale (POS) outlet: Citi-Serves

E. DUTIES OF PARTICIPATING BANKS/OUTLETS
i. Collection of Profile Code from candidate's phone
ii. Collection of Payment and vending of ePIN by SMS to candidate's phone.
iii. Facilitation of Payment through POS, if necessary 
iv. Issuance of Evidence of Payment 
v. Delivery of ePIN to candidates electronically (not to be handwritten)

F. SIX DIFFERENT MODES/METHODS OF PAYMENT/ PROCUREMENT OF ePIN FOR REGISTRATION (CHOOSE SUITABLE ONE)
i. PAYMENT THROUGH BANKS INCLUDING MICRO FINANCE BANKS
(a) Present Profile Code and pay by cash or card

(b) ePIN is then delivered to the candidate's unique telephone number

This is available at State Offices of JAMB + CBT Centres, other POS outlets, and any CBT Centre that demands it

iii. PAYMENT THROUGH MOBILE MONEY OPERATORS
This is available at CBT Centres and Other Outlets

(a) Present Profile Code and pay by cash

iv. PAYMENT USING ATM

This is available on all ATM outlets of Participating Banks listed in 5C (I) (InterSwitch Channel)

(a) Select Bill Payment and then pick JAMB

(b) Enter Profile Code and pay

(c) ePIN is then delivered to the candidate's unique telephone number

v. ONLINE PAYMENT ON JAMB PORTAL
(a) Visit JAMB website: www.jamb.gov.ng

(b) Click Purchase of 2022 Application Document

(c) Enter your Profile Code

(d) Select payment method (InterSwitch, Remita, e-Transact, Unified Payment Solutions, Upper-link or Paga)

(e) Make payment

(f) ePIN is then delivered to the candidate's unique telephone number

vi. PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION AT THE EIGHT FOREIGN CENTRES:
(a) Registration fee for candidates from the eight foreign countries is $20 or it's equivalent in each of the eight countries

(b) Candidates from the eight foreign countries are to download the Application from the Board's website (www.jamb.gov.ng) complete and submit it with the fee at the eight designated centers as indicated on the website

  1. Create a profile
  2. Login to the profile
  3. On the menu on the left pane, click on 2022 Foreign UTME/DE registration
  4. Go through guided questions until the payment page
  5. Make payment using any of the authorized cards
  6. Complete the registration directly online
OFFER OF FREE APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
Any government, person, or organization that wishes to distribute free application documents to prospective applicants is required to urgently procure the bulk e-pins from either JAMB or any approved sale outlets.

Candidates who want to enjoy any of these offers are advised to visit the sponsor’s designated banks or other e-PIN outlets (NOT ANY CBT center) to collect the e-PIN after creating their profiles as illustrated above.

No refund would be made to any candidate if he/she had earlier purchased the application document before being offered free e-PIN. Such applicants should refrain from multiple registrations.

HOW TO RECOVER LOST ePIN AFTER PAYMENT

I. If ePIN is not Received or Lost, send [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for UTME or DE respectively from the unique number

ii. The ePIN would then be retrieved and delivered on the candidate's unique number

AFTER SUCCESSFUL PAYMENT AND OBTAINING ePIN, CANDIDATE SHOULD PROCEED TO ANY OF THE JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES TO COMPLETE HIS/HER REGISTRATION.

JAMB REGISTRATION CENTRES
i. In line with the Board's regulated registration exercise, only the accredited Computer Based Test Centres and JAMB Offices will be allowed to register candidates

ii. Each candidate should visit any accredited CBT center (the list of accredited centers is on our
 website (www.jamb.gov.ng), with his/her personal details, the profile, and evidence of payment

JAMB REGISTRATION PROCESS AT CBT CENTRES:
The candidate presents the ePIN at any JAMB accredited CBT Centre for completion of registration. The name of the candidate as typed by the candidate on his/her phone when registering the profile comes up automatically on the input of the e-PIN by the CBT center

Candidates are to:
i. Note that the service charge payable at the CBT center for either MOCK or registration is N700 only. Report any center that asks for more. 

ii. Provide choice of institutions and programs (course of study). 

iii. Provide qualification with grades and dates, if not awaiting result.

iv. Upload relevant certificates if not awaiting result (this is applicable for both UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates

v. Provide 0/L and /or A/L grades. Candidates who are awaiting results should supply (upload) the results online on CAPS (JAMB) as soon as they are available. No recommendations from any Institution will be considered by JAMB if the candidate does not upload his/her result on the portal of JAMB. No institution is allowed to take a new picture/photograph, biometrics, or require any other upload of the result. All results are downloadable by institutions from the Board's website (and the download is tracked to avoid abuse). 

vi. Supply JAMB registration number for previous institutional certificates for DE only 

vii. Provide UTME subjects and choice of examination town(s) for 
a. Mock examination (optional) 
b. Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) (actual examination) 
viii. Review entries and confirm the correctness
ix. Print Registration Slip USING BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION to confirm valid finger-print (UTME/DE). Note that authentication with your fingerprint removes blames for error from CB centers. Candidates are to check before confirming with their fingerprint. 
x. Collect, at no other cost, the reading text, and CD 
xi. Collect their e-slip at the end of registration as evidence of registration 
NOTE: There will be no offline registration, as all the accredited CBT centers have been empowered for real-time online registration. No candidate should register at any center other than the accredited CBT center and JAMB State-Offices. Any candidate who is registered outside approved centers will be identified and disqualified.

BLIND CANDIDATES
Candidates who are blind are to indicate by typing BLIND and also pick the option of sitting for the examination through CBT mode or Read Aloud. 
A candidate is either blind or sighted. It is important to be factual.

DEAF/MUTE CANDIDATES
A special indicator for the deaf/mute has been created to differentiate them for special attention at the examination hall.

Deaf candidates are therefore to confirm this appropriately during registration.

BIOMETRIC CHALLENGES
i. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters in Abuja. 
ii. No other CBT center is permitted to register such candidates 
iii. They will also sit for their examination at JAMB headquarters in Abuja 
iv. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall or sit for the examination if his biometrics is not verified 
v. The system will not permit or process any examination without biometric verification 
vi. Candidates with Biometric abnormality can only register and take examinations at the Abuja headquarters of the Board. The Board will facilitate the travels.

JAMB 2022 DATES AND VENUE FOR UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION
The 2022 CBT Examination will commence on Saturday 6th May 2022 to Monday 16th May 2022.

The venue of the examination will be at any center in the candidate's chosen examination town(s)

JAMB DOES NOT POST ANY CANDIDATE TO ANY EXAMINATION TOWN (OR GROUP OF TOWNS) OTHER THAN THE ONE CHOSEN BY THE CANDIDATE AT THE POINT OF REGISTRATION. CANDIDATES ARE, HOWEVER, ADVISED TO REGISTER ON TIME BEFORE THE AVAILABLE SPACES IN THEIR TOWN OF CHOICE OR GROUP OF TOWNS ARE EXHAUSTED AND THEREFORE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

JAMB REGISTRATION FEE/PROCUREMENT OF REGISTRATION ePINs
Registration Fee is Three Thousand Five Hundred (N3,500) Naira Only. Additional Five Hundred (N500) Naira only, is paid to obtain the reading text "The Life Changer" by Khadija Abubakar Jalli for UTME Candidates and for DE Candidates. Seven Hundred Nara (N700) is regulated and charged for the CBT Centre service charge and $20 for Candidates from the eight foreign centers.

A CD containing JAMB eSyllabus, eBrochure, and other vital materials is also given free

Candidates should note that ePINS purchased are tied to individual profiles and are not transferable

Candidates are advised to keep private and confidential their security details such as registration numbers, password/numbers of ATM Cards, email addresses, and ePINs. 
 
No center is allowed to request for or accept a candidate's password.

JAMB 2022 OPTIONAL MOCK-EXAMINATION
The Board will also conduct a mock examination in all the accredited CBT centers to prepare and familiarize INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment. Interested candidates are advised to indicate their interest in the mock examination during registration provided it is on or before 19th March 2022.

JAMB 2022 MOCK Registration Period: 12th February 2022 to 19th March 2022

The date for the MOCK examination is Saturday 16th April 2022.

Non-JAMB CBT Centres are allowed to collect, through their bank accounts, a separate Seven Hundred Naira (N700) only, for mock exercise from only interested candidate(s) after notification of center has been received by the candidate(s).

The payment for the mock examination by the candidate shall be made to the center to which the candidate is assigned after the notification of assigned centers for the mock examination. No Association or body is permitted to run any mock examination on behalf of JAMB.

DO NOT PAY FOR MOCK UNTIL JAMB ASSIGNS YOU TO A CBT CENTRE. NO ONE SHOULD PATRONISE FRAUDSTERS, MANY OF WHOM ARE NOW IN CUSTODY FOR DEFRAUDING PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES. ONLY JAMB ACCREDITED CBT CENTRES CAN DO VALID REGISTRATION AND SERVE AS EXAMINATION CENTRES

JAMB GENERAL INFORMATION
All candidates must mandatorily register their profiles through text messages as illustrated above before proceeding to buy the ePIN

The registration fee is non-refundable

As it is the practice, centers are allowed to charge not more than Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) only as a registration fee. Any center that charges more than Seven Hundred Naira (₦700) should be reported to JAMB for appropriate sanctions

All CBT centers have been mandated to select any of the participating banks, MMOs, MFBs, etc.

These financial institutions are to be present at the CBT centers for the purpose of collecting all fees.

No CBT center staff is allowed to conduct direct cash transactions with the candidates

Candidates are advised to read and understand the guidelines on admission and instructions on how to complete the online registration before commencing the process of registration

Multiple registrations are not allowed. Candidates who register more than once will be identified and disqualified

Candidates should note that they are required to be present and take live photographs which will be embossed on their result slips and admission letters. No scanned/stapled passport photograph is allowed

Candidates are to note that irrespective of their choice of course of study, they will also be tested on a general text: "The Life Changer" by Khadija Abubakar Jalli for UTME Candidates and for DE Candidates are also expected to read the text.

Candidates/Officials would not be allowed to enter the examination center with a wristwatch, Phone, electronic device, or any pen/biro. Only common pencil is allowed

Candidates are warned that the Board does not require nor authorize the services of ANY cyber cafe or establishment other than the accredited CBT centers for this exercise.

2022 JAMB UTME INSTRUCTIONS FOR CBT CENTERS

CCTV Footages

  • Each Centre must have evidence to show that the number of CCTV footages copied by Technical Officers and CPN officials corresponds with the number of channels available for all cameras installed 

Collection of E-Slip from Candidates

  • No examination official should collect an e-Slip (Registration Slip) from any candidate either before, during, or after the examination

Using Biometric Verification to login by Candidates for examination

  • Only candidates who are biometrically verified successfully would be able to log in for the examination
  • Any Centre/one which allows candidate(s) into the Examination Hall and cannot log in would be held responsible

Minimum of one (1) Hour Duration in the Examination by any Candidate

  • No candidate is allowed to spend less than one (1) hour during his/her examination
  • Visible and Clearly Tagged Seat Number on Cubicles
  • Every Cubicle MUST be clearly tagged with a bold & visible Seat Number that CCTV cameras can capture
  • Samples and each center is to place before Mock Examination
