The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced to the public that it’s 2023 UTME registration would commence on Saturday, 14th January, to Tuesday, 14th February 2023. This is made known to the public via a statement made by spokesperson of JAMB, Dr Fabian Benjamin after the management meeting held on the 20th of December, 2022.

Candidates are to note that the above date does not include registration for Direct Entry (DE). However, the 2023 DE registration is slated to commence from Monday, 20th February to Thursday, 20th April 2022.


In addition, the board also fixed Thursday, 16th March 2023, for the conduct of its optional mock UTME. Candidates who are interested in taking the optional mock exam are to note that they’ll be asked to pay a sum of N1,000 as service charge for the CBT centres to conduct the mock examination. This fee is to be paid at the point of registration.

The board has also fixed the 2023 UTME main exam to hold from Saturday, 29th April, 2023, to Monday, 12th May 2023.

Candidates who are interested in sitting for the 2023 UTME can now proceed to create their profiles ahead of the commencement of the registration process itself.


JAMB Registration 2023 Requirements

NIN: Your National identity Number is important for your registration as you’ll need it to create your profile code. Candidates are advised to use their personal NIN to avoid name errors. Note that the name attached to the NIN provided is what will display on your profile.

Valid E-mail: Your email is where you’ll be receiving information’s from JAMB as well as your registration documents such as your registration slip, admission letter, and Original jamb result. You’ll also receive your profile login details via your e-mail. This is why candidates must provide a valid and active e-mail at the point of registration.

Phone number: A phone number is an  important requirement because it is where your profile code will be sent to; it is also where your result will be sent to after you’ve request for it via the JAMB USSD number (55019 or 66019). Candidates are advised to use their personal number in this regard so to avoid issues in the long run.


Candidates will also be asked to provide some of their personal details such as state of origin and address. Candidates are also to provided their choices of institution and courses during the course of registration.


Do I Need NIN for JAMB Registration 2023?

Yes, a valid National Identification Number is required of all candidates who wish to register for the 2023 UTME.  The NIN is needed to generate a profile code which will in turn be used during the registration process. Candidates are to ensure that they use their personal NIN and not that of maybe a family member or friend.

How much does the 2023 JAMB registration form cost?

The 2023 JAMB registration costs a total of #4,700. The sum of 3,500 is to be paid for pin vending coupled with the fee for the compulsory reading text 500; then the service charge is #700 which makes it a sum total of #4,700 naira only.


Where can I register JAMB?

Only JAMB accredited CBT centers has the license to register interested candidates. This means you can only do your registration only in an accredited JAMB CBT centers. Note that this registration can’t be done anywhere apart from a CBT center and designated JAMB offices.

How can I generate my JAMB Profile Code?

You can generate your JAMB Profile code by using the USSD option to create a profile codeyou’re your registration. To generate your profile code, candidates are to dial *55019*1*NIN# or *66019*1*NIN# and then send using your personal phone number.
